Psychology services for adults

My counselling and coaching sessions are individually tailored to each client’s unique needs and circumstances. I help clients to think more clearly about their problems and feelings. We look at their worries and concerns from different angles and come up with practical solutions. These might include, for example, better ways to organise a busy life, or ideas for building relationships and social networks. I encourage my clients to take one small step at a time and see for themselves the benefits of change.

My Services

Videoconferencing

When you make an appointment for counselling or coaching with me, our meetings will be via videoconferencing, or in some instances, by telephone.

The privacy of any form of communication via the internet is potentially vulnerable and limited by the security of the technology used. To support the security of your personal information I use the Cliniko delivery platform, which is compliant with the Australian standards for online security and encryption. You will need reliable access to the internet, but won’t need to install any apps or special technology. When I confirm our meeting you receive a meeting invitation. You simply click on the link at the appointed time and our meeting begins. You can use any appropriate device – smartphone, laptop, iPad or computer with a camera, microphone and speakers. It is also a good idea for you to have access to a quiet, private space.

Referral pathways

GP referral

You may be a client who was referred to me for counselling by your General Practitioner. If this is you, your GP will provide me with a care plan to meet your mental health needs. This will specify the maximum number of counselling sessions and whether or not you are eligible for a Medicare rebate. Prior to our first meeting I will send you additional information about my obligations as a provider of psychological telehealth services and matters to do with your privacy and consent to services.

Private clients

Other clients contact me directly for coaching or counselling. Over the years I have worked with numerous people who want to improve their career prospects, become better leaders, or deal with the pressures of managing conflict, relationships and work-life balance issues. Even if the issue is nothing to do with work, you don’t need a referral. Just contact me and discuss ways I might assist you. Prior to our first meeting I will send you additional information about your privacy and consent to services.

Fees

Meetings are approximately 50 minutes in length. I will discuss the costs with you before we agree on the first meeting. Fees are payable at the end of the session. Payments are via a secure platform.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or postpone your appointment, please give me at least 48 hours notice, otherwise you may be charged a cancellation fee, up to the full cost of the meeting.

As a client of an APS psychologist:

  • Your privacy will be safeguarded
  • You will be treated with respect at all times
  • Your cultural background and language tradition will be respected
  • You will be given a clear explanation of the services you will receive
  • You will be asked to give your consent prior to the first meeting
  • Confidentiality of any information you provide will be respected
  • You will receive a clear statement about fees
  • You can ask any questions about the service you are receiving.

I look forward to meeting with you and discussing your needs and concerns. Send an email below and we will arrange a time to talk things through.
